First Day With Matsons

Late last night Emily and five of her kids arrived.  Today was our first together and it was a lot of fun.  First we swam at Emily's hotel.  Then had pizza for lunch at our house.

After lunch we went to the river where the kids played in the water for three hours.

This sweet woman sat there for at least an hour helping Charity and Sam find shells.  She was so kind!

Air guitar competition july 2015

4th of July

The day started with everyone getting ready and cleaning up the house.  The girls all gave each other makeovers.  Then Celeste and Eden sent me these cute photos.

We went to San Gabriel Park where the city all seems to go to hang out all day.  They had rides, booths, activities, food, and live music.

We ate and played and stayed for a few hours.

They had a little dance contest and air guitar contest.  Celeste won one of the rounds.

Becca getting a little crazy with her air guitar.

Later we went had dinner at Hat Creek, then went over to play in the river.

The water was so nice and warm.  The kids swam for hours and even as it got dark.  Several of them just sat in the river to watch the fireworks show.  The show was fantastic!
Definitely one of our favorite 4th of Julys.

Eden/Mom Date

The kids decided they wanted me to choose the child I felt was best behaved each week and take them on a date.  I agreed.  Last week I took Hana.  But I forgot to take photos!  :(
This week I remembered to get plenty of my date with Eden.

She is just such a great girl with personality plus.

We had frozen yogurt and walked around the shops at the Square.

And we took the city's free bikes to ride around town.

So fun!  I managed to take many photos while riding my bike.  Even this one.

We made our way to the river, where many people were having a lot of fun and camped out like they were at the beach.

I still can't get over how much I love it here.  I am so glad Steve and the kids do too.
