My old house

Driving down to Bakersfield I could not believe how dry it was! California had been in an epic droubt, and I hadn't been in this area since before it began. It was sad to see.
What was also sad was driving by my old house. I walked around the grounds and it was so very sad! It looked like it had been deserted and completely destroyed.
This is the backyard that was once gorgeous for our wedding reception.

Sherod and Em's

Charity and Sam are so cute sleeping together in hotels.
The kids absolutely loved Sherod and Emily's pool!!! Sherod was so sweet to take time to teach Sam how to swim, and he learned!  Charity just got swimming down during this trip. Their house is such an awesome place. And they are such great hosts.
We went out to eat at Moo Creamery. Yum!
We toured Sherod's office and even got to be guests on his radio show. We were so scared, but it was fun.
Jack driving!
We all went out to lunch and got to see my brother Sam.
And of course we had to go to Dewars too.
The babies, after a lot of swimming.
We were all sad to go. These guys took perfect care of us.

Great Grandpa Waite

Everybody coming in the door to greet Great Grandma and Grandpa Waite.
She had to inmediately hug everyone, which was sweet.
Grandpa turns 90 tomorrow and looks and acts easily 20 years younger or more. He was playing with Charity and Sam and they werw trying to hide from him behind his chair.

Big Sur

On the 4th of July we just drove. From Vancouver Canada to some random town in Northern California.
Today we drove the rest of the way to Big Sur and got to spend some time with Scott and Molly and kids. The drive up there was terrifying! Celeste was crying, I was crying, and most of us were scared we were gonna die. They have a long road up to their house that is not paved, is very narrow, has lots of dips and potholes, and has a very very steep drop off that you get to hug all the way up. We were so glad to make it there and out alive.
Take a look behind Andy, all that white is the ocean with a blanket of clouds on it. We were way up there!
There house was cool and the property was amazing.
The kids had a blast playing together.
Molly and Scott have a cat, two dogs, and a pig. Everybody loved the pig, whose name was Eloise.
Another little friend was over there too, playing.
Jonah liked little people.
They took us on a walk all over the property. Such a pretty place!
We wanted to get out of there before it got dark. We had a wonderful view of the sunset on our way down the mountain.
Me and my seester.
