Date

Last weekend Steve and I had such a wonderful date. We went downtown and had the yummiest meal at True Food Kitchen, walked along the river and a little downtown, and did a little shopping at Trader Joe's.
It was such a pretty day and we enjoyed just hanging out by the river so much.

Hana & Charity

Charity trying on her costume for her competition dance she is doing with Payton.

I love Hana's Instagram posts. But I especially liked this one because her caption was that these were her "best friends". It makes me so happy that all of our kids are so close and really are best friends with each other.

Track

Andy had his first homeschool Track Meet yesterday in Austin. He runs with the Austin Royals Christian Homeschool Group. They are great kids and it is a great team. The meet was at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin. It was a nice sunny and warm day.
Hana was standing like a ballerina in 1st position. She is obsessed with dance!
Andy ran in the 4x100m relay, the 4x400m relay and the 100m dash.
He was awesome in all of them! We don't know the placing for the relays still because they had a few heats. But I don't think the team did as well as Andy did individually. We think he placed 1st overall in the 100m because his time was pretty great. He was 12.5 seconds. The state high school record for that distance is 11.5 seconds and Andy is only in 8th grade with very little track training.
This kid is FAST!!!

Drolets Over For Dinner

Last night we had the Drolet Family over for dinner.
We played the game Beanboozled and it was pretty cute.
And we also played "Speak Out" which was pretty hilarious.
They are such a great family and we have so much fun with them!

Kayaking with Findleys

Kayaking with the Findleys

Steve and I took all the kids down to Zilker Park to meet the Findleys for kayaking. It was a GORGEOUS day! Steve and Sam took one kayak, I was in another with Charity, Cessie and Becca were together, Jonah and Eden were together, and Hana and Andy were in another.
We managed to get the whole group in for me to take a photo. This was the first time our families have gotten together. Steve and I have gone on a few double dates with Heather and Mike, but we've been wanting to have our kids meet. And they seemed to hit it off just fine too!
Charity posing with a baby turtle in the distance.
There were lots of turtles out!
This tree area had many but most got scared away. These were the only turtles willing to pose for a photo with Charity.

LA Minimoon

Last weekend Steve and I took a little trip to LA. We got to see my brother Andy on the first day. On the second day Sherod and Emily came down and we spent a couple of fun days together. Sherod booked us an AIRBNB close to Santa Monica Beach. We did lots of talking, walking, eating, and just chilling.

This week so far

Cute post from Hana on her Instagram.
Steve and I flew out for a mini-moon in LA this morning! So far all we have done is go out to lunch with Andy in Long Beach, visit the Abbey Lee Miller dance studio, (saw Kalani, Lili, Camryn, and the moms!), and visit the LA Temple where we were married nearly 19 years ago.

A photo from my childhood

This was taken while I was on a trip with my family to Florida when I was about 8 or 9 years old?
The lady in the pink dress was our nanny Jeanna.

Also a photo of my Grandpa Bailey with his brother Paul.

Fredericksburg

We went to Fredericksburg with my mom today. It is an adorable town a couple of hours away. This was my favorite Texas town I've ever seen. Sooo cute!
And so were the kids.
I love that they always seem to be pairing up with their buddy. Jonah and Cessie are one partnership, Eden and Andy another, Becca and Hana another (as seen in this next photo), and finally Charity and Sam.
This is a German town. We ate some delicious German food!  We walked around town.       And went to some pretty gardens.     It was a wonderful day!
