College!

Today was a HUGE day! Cessie and Jonah started COLLEGE!!! It is crazy this is happening already. It doesn't feel real.
They are both attending Austin Community College and even have a few classes together!
And here's the kicker...We decided to let Cessie move out. She is going to stay in her apartment across the street from ACC during her school days and with us on the weekends. I feel super weird about this. But she feels even more super excited

Cessie Piano

Cessie had what might be her final piano recital today. She is going to stop taking lessons. She has taken lessons the last couple of years. She really enjoys it. But with college starting and all that entails, she is taking a break.

School Begins

Steve and I got back from our trip for my surgery on Sunday. Monday was 5 of the kid's last day of Summer. They were to start school on Tuesday.
So I took all the kids out to Flix. We love this place obviously, as it seems like I am frequently mentioning it. We saw Pete's Dragon while eating lunch. We also went to the cheap theater to see the BFG. Having been recently operated on, I needed something fun, but sedentary.
The first day of school was pretty low key because of my inability to step it up as a mom. And gratefully the kids didn't care.
Hana started 5th grade and Charity 1st.
Eden started 10th grade.
And Becca and Andy started 8th.
That night I ordered take out from Chilis and because I did not want to take a trip up and down the stairs again, we ate in my room.

Surgery

Fourth and hopefully last surgery on my right knee this week.

Becca Acting

Becca has an acting coach in California that she is taking lessons with via Skype. She loves it so much and I think her teacher is awesome.

Charity's Birthday

Charity had her 7th birthday. I can't believe she is 7. I still refer to her and Sam as "The Babies". She wanted to go out to breakfast at Panera. Then we went shopping for her presents. She spent most of her money on makeup. I just couldn't tell her no. She is super girly.
She and I also went to Flix to see Secret Life of Pets. She ate two entrees there! And at home we had the dinner she requested, parmesan chicken pasta dish, greek salad, donuts and cupcakes.
She is such a doll and joy!

Wrapping up Summer

It was a busy week. I didn't get photos of it all.
Steve was in North Carolina for work.
Andy had soccer camp.
Becca had band camp.
And I was doing dance camp.
Andy and his basketball buddies had a party at the water park this week. These boys have been in a tournament this weekend.
Becca is Instagramming frequently, and likes posting photos of her closest buddy Hana.

This week at the studio we had Dance Camp for our Company Dancers. We have three teams and Becca and Hana are on one of them. It was an intense week with a lot of work. I taught them 6 group dances! It went well and was a lot of fun.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I saw this photo of her on Facebook that I liked.

And today is my Dad's birthday. This is my favorite photo of him.

Charity & Sam play

Charity & Sam play 2

Becca turns 13!

Becca had a great birthday! We have FIVE teenagers now!!! We went to Outback Steakhouse as a family for lunch to celebrate. She loves that place. And then for dinner, she and I went to Flix to watch "The Secret Life of Pets" and eat dinner during the movie. Such a fun movie theater/restaurant. After that, we went shopping for her birthday present. After several stores, we ended up at the T-Mobile store where she bought an iphone 6! She was SOOOOO stoked! It was a great day for her.

Cessie Apartment

This week Cessie and Jonah finally got registered for classes at Austin Community College. But when I went to look at cost, to our shock, it said we were out of district. We are so close to the Round Rock campus that I totally thought we would be in district. Tuition there is super cheap! And that is a major reason we chose it. The cost of living out of district, is an extra $3,300 per semester, per student. So basically an extra $13,200 more than we had anticipated. Quite the blow. So we did something crazy...We went and rented an apartment across the street from campus! It will end up costing us half the amount over the year than it would have if we paid out of district. Cessie and Jonah are not going to move in it immediately, although they would love to. They will however be able to hang out in it between classes and it has a really nice business center where they can work on computers for school work, with scanners, and fax machines, etc... And a pool. A nice gym, and other great amenities. Cessie wants to move into it as soon as we will allow her and is looking for a second job to bring in a bit more income to afford rent herself. Jonah, we think we'll have him wait longer. So kinda crazy. We could have two kids out of the house now if we wanted. And they will be out before we know it.
