Summer Happenings

On 7/21/14 Celeste got her drivers permit!  I woke her up that morning, and without any previous warning, told her she would be getting her permit that day. We downloaded an app and had her study for a bit, then I took her to the DLD.  It is kind of a difficult test, and not open book.  It took her two tries, but she passed!  She started taking Drivers Training Class in preparation for her licence that night.  It goes for two weeks in the evenings.
Christy graciously helped me out with Hana's hair the other day.  She did pretty well for her first time doing hair like Hana's!  We were grateful!
Sam has been potty training the last couple of weeks.  Totally not a fun part of parenting!!!  But we're doing it.  He sure is cute in his undies!
Cute Charity.
The kids at the dentist.
Sam's first real dental checkup.  He was so good!

Mountains♥️

On Friday night Steve and I went up to Sundance for a great date night!  Christy & James Jex came w/us.  We saw a concert with Amy Grant and the Altmans.  We had the BEST night.

Early the next morning I ran the Timp Half Marathon in American Fork Canyon.  I had set a personal PR of 1:49 at the Hobbler Half Marathon the Saturday before. This race, I beat that by one minute on only 3.5 hrs of sleep.  I felt horrible until I could get some sleep, but was excited about my time.  There were 131 women in my division and I placed 20th.  There were 1053 finishers altogether and I placed 255.

Christy my Bestie

Christy is my next door neighbor who moved in last year.  It was love at first sight!  She is seriously the most awesome friend I could ever ask for.  She is hilarious, sweet, thoughtful, unselfish, non judgey, so smart, so easy to talk to and be with.  She's shear delight.  She is so gorgeous from the inside out that I wish I were her!  The more I hang out with her, the more obsesssed I am with her.  She just never gets old to me.
This last week I have been having a tough problem I am trying to work through and she has been so attentive and so concerned about all she could possibly do to help me.  She has gone above and beyond what a typical friend would  do.
Oh Christy, my sockety friend, I adore you!  And your cute family too.
Fortunately the love between our kids is equal in devotion.
I am in neighbor heaven here.  She better never move!

Celeste at BYU

This week Celeste is at BYU at ACT Prep camp.  I talked to her last night after she had finished her first day.  She was having a great time and learning a lot.  I took these photos before I dropped her off in her dorm room.  She has a really sweet roommate and she was pretty excited.

Celeste and Jonah had EFY last week at UVU.  They had the best experience and went on and on about all the fun times they had and the Spirit that they felt.  Micah, (their cousin) came too.

These two boys are so close and so cute together.  They have fallen asleep together like this often.

Grandpa Waite

My Grandpa Waite had his birthday on July 8th.  He was born in 1926.  My uncle Jim posted these photos on Facebook that day and I wanted to add them here.
This is my Waite Grandparents wedding photo.  I remember looking at it a lot when I was little.  It hung on their wall.  And I always thought they looked so pretty and handsome!
My grandpa served in the Navy.  He had some great stories from this experience.

This obviously, is a more recent photo of him.  He is still so handsome and I love how white his hair is.

I believe this photo below may be him with his counselors when he served as Stake President.  Everyone seemed to really love him.

This is my Grandparents with their children, (except for Jim,) and their spouses and children.  I think this was about 1982.

I am not sure of the story with this picture.  He was the superintendent of  a school district and I am wondering if that is what this picture is of.

I believe this photo below is of my great grandfather Jesse LeRoy Waite and his boys, (including my grandpa Cecil Erwin Waite.)

This photo below is a news article that talks about my Grandpa.  He is the teen boy in the photo.  He was a great athlete!

BBall with Dad

I was taking out the garbage the other morning and came across a common sight.  It was Steve and Andy playing basketball outside.  These two love to play one on one against each other and I love watching them do it.   Steve says he still beats Andy most of the time, but Andy is getting better.  The kid has some real natural talent.

This week and the 4th

This week the older girls were at Girls Camp.  The rest of the kids and I got our yard looking much better with some serious work!
We also went to Trafalga one day and swimming another.
For the 4th, the girls got back, and we worked hard on the yard as a family.  Then out to lunch at Golden Corral.  Finally we played at Seven Peaks water park.
It was a fun and exhausting day.

Girls Camp

I didn't get to go with the girls this year because they recently changed the YW Presidency :(  But the new leaders posted these photos.
The girls said it went well!
