Family time

Yesterday we spent a few hours in the canyon with Tim and Anna and their families.
It was a gorgeous day!
And we had a fantastic time together.
There are three things I will really miss when we move to Texas: Family, the mountains, and Cafe Rio.  We're trying to get our fill of all of those before we move in just 8 weeks!

Black Eyes

A few days ago I noticed Charity had a black eye.  These photos don't quite capture it because it has healed quickly since it happened.  I didn't get photos of it until today.
She doesn't know how she got it.  I think it was from a trampoline misshap.  She is always getting on the neighbor's trampoline and it is often with other kids who she will bump into.
Becca on the other hand got a terrible shiner!
This happened when she and Hana were playing and kind of chasing each other.  Hana ran into a room away from Becca.  Then she tried to slam the door shut before Becca could get in.  Unfortunately, Becca's face was already in the door.
Ouch!

This must look suspicious with two of our children with black eyes.  But we really aren't that kind of parents.

Triathlon

I had a triathlon today and I had the best time!  Triathlons are more fun for me than half marathons or marathons because I am mixing it up with three sports.  I expected to do badly because I hardly trained for it.  My running has been fine, but in the last 4 months I have only biked and swam twice.  But I beat my time from last year's race by 5 minutes and I felt strong.  I had so much energy, I felt like I could have turned around at the finish line and gone again.  Which was so great.
I thought I wasn't going to have any support at the race but Steve and Eden surprised me by showing up and cheering me on along the way.  It was so nice.  Eden was the cutest cheerleader and even ran with me part of the way.  Steve forgot his shoes!  He forgot his shoes once this week to work too!  I don't know how you can do that, but he manages to.
Although I timed myself, I don't know the results of where I placed because the race's website has my time off by about a half hour.  I have never had that happen  to me before.  So that was too bad.

Eden

At the grocery store I told the girls to go through the checkout line while I ran to the pharmacy to pickup a prescription.  I gave them a $100 bill and Eden thought it was so cool, she wanted me to take her picture with it.

Playing at Park

We have such a fun park.  The weather this year has been AMAZING!!!!  Yesterday was so nice that I took the day off from my normal craziness and went to the park 3 separate times with the kids.
I climbed the pyramid all the way to the top.  It was scarier than I thought it would be.  This structure is high!
Views from the top.  The kid's school.
Our neighborhood.
He's so cute.
And so is she.

Andy

I couldn't decide which photo I preferred, the filter or not.  So I put up both.
Andy played a KILLER game last night!  We were so proud.  It was amazing.

Sam

I know it may not be entirely appropriate, but I just couldn't resist.  That bum kills me.

Our family in the canyon

We love going up the canyon.  This time it was American Fork Canyon.  We ate lunch, and some roasted hot dogs.
We also played games.
A little hiking.
Some kicking back.
Card tricks.
Lots of snacking.
We each even painted our own little canvas oil paintings.
Some serious Smores making.
Pulling "taffy" with melting marshmallows.
Popping popcorn.
And playing by the river.
It was such a wonderful day!
