Company Lock-In part 2

The Last Few Days

Becca got her braces on. I forgot to get a "before" photo! She chose clear braces, unlike Hana, who had wanted the regular kind. Go figure.
Becca also had a band competition on Saturday.
Friday night we had our Dance Company lock-in. Becca couldn't come because she was out till nearly midnight playing at the football game and had her band competition early the next morning. And we did not invite the Mini Team because they were too young. So Charity didn't come. But Hana was there. She stayed up until 6am with other girls. I only made it until 4am. It was a long night, but we had a lot of fun.

The Bats (2)

The Bats (1)

Weekend with Tim

On Saturday Tim, Brenda, and Jesse arrived in town. We ate, hung out, and then went to the ballet. I had seen Romeo and Juliet at Ballet Austin with Steve the night before, but loved it so much, I wanted to see it again. And fortunately, Tim and Brenda were willing to humor me and come see it too. Cessie, Jonah and Eden came. Steve and the rest of the kids went to see the bats in downtown Austin just a couple of blocks away.
Andy also had a basketball game. They won, as they usually do.
Jesse, Charity and Sam played a lot and were so excited for the cousin time.
It was a great weekend.

Andy Homecoming

Andy and Chloe went to the high school Homecoming dance on Saturday. Eden chaperoned them while they went to Burger University, then she dropped them off at the school. Afterwards, Chloe's dad picked them up and took them to frozen yogurt. I heard the whole thing was a bit awkward, but they sure looked good being awkward!

Sam's birthday (mom was sick, so Steve brought the cake to our room!)

Sam's bday

The above is not really related much, but it is a text from our sweet neighbor Hilary.

On the morning of Sam's birthday, I awoke very sick. Sam had been planning his mommy date for a long time and so I was determined to take him on it on his birthday. So Steve and I asked him if he could wait a few hours while I rested and hopefully got better. Well, when it came time to take him, I was totally puking my guts out, and still in bed. Sam was so disappointed! I could not even get out of bed hardly. So I asked him if he would like to go with Cessie and Charity? And he said he did. So sweet Cessie, played mom for the day and took him on his date. I asked her to blog about it, which you'll see below. And they had a lot of fun! Steve and I had decided to take everyone to play laser tag the next day as an extended celebration and hold off on the cake for the next day too. But unfortunately, I spent the entire next day, again, in bed. So we put off laser tag again, and did the cake and singing in our bedroom so I could be there. I felt so bad it all did not turn out as planned. Well, turns out, the next day I was in bed all day again! So Steve took all the kids to laser tag without me, then out to lunch at McAllister's.
I felt bad that I had little to do with Sam's birthday this year. But thankfully others stepped up and made him feel special and loved I think. He and I did have lots of snuggles at least. I love that little boy like crazy! He and I have a very special bond.

Sam's 6th Birthday

Sam is officially six! He got to stay home from school with Charity. First, all of four of us (Jonah, Charity, Sam, and I) went to Panera and where Sam got his favorite broccoli cheddar soup and a pumpkin cookie. After that, we dropped the other kids off and went to Target where he picked out two Nerf guns. He was so excited, it was adorable! He wanted to go home right away to play with the other kids and so we took a break from his date while they played Nerf guns for an hour or two. Finally, we wrapped up with some frozen yogurt. He even picked out birthday cake flavored yogurt. We had a great time together and finished the day out with his choice of dinner, pizza, with the rest of the family.

Eden plays Blackbird

Eden Guitar

Eden is a talented girl who taught herself how to play guitar, bass guitar and ukulele.  She loves music and she has excellent taste. And she has a nice singing voice too.

Grandpa Waite

My Grandpa has been having a lot of health problems. I saw this on Facebook and wanted to post. I am very proud of my Grandpa.

Drawing from Keishla

Jonah's girlfriend is such a sweetheart and sent me this drawing she did for me.

Becca's 1st band football performance

Hana's 12th bday

1st band performance at a football game

On Friday night Becca's band had their first football game performance. It was all the way down in Buda, so it was an away game. Which means they did not wear their formal uniforms or do a huge performance. But they were great and we really enjoyed hearing and watching them. Becca of course was a bit embarrassed at first when I was taking photos. But she loosened up.

Sibling Love

Yesterday for Family Fun Day we all went out to lunch at McAllister's. (We brought Chloe along.) After that, we went the HEB to buy goodies, then we went home and watched The Truman Show together. After the movie, some of the kids spent a long time watching Team Titans, one of their favorite shows.
And these two were sharing these photos on social media. It's fun for me when my kids post on social media. I get a lot more photo updates on their lives than I would otherwise. I also love seeing them love each other!

Andy & Chloe

Andy and Chloe like sending out Snaps of them and I like seeing them. These two are pretty tight!

Hana's birthday & braces

On Thursday it was Hana's 12th birthday. So I let her skip school and she chose to go on a date with me to celebrate. We went shopping at Target, where she bought some clothes, then out to lunch at Panera, then to the movies to see "Leap". After that was dance where we both had to be. But she wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else anyhow. She loves dance! I did bring Popsicles for all of the Company Dancers though to celebrate, and we sang to her. She said it was the best birthday she ever had. She's easy!
The next morning she got her braces on! Here is the "Before" photo.
And of course the "After" photo too.
Because the night before was dance for 4.5hrs, we didn't do our birthday dinner with the family until the day after. We had flautas, cantaloupe, and apple pie.
Hana is such an awesome girl. She is always such a good daughter, friend, sister, stranger...all of the above! We are so grateful she is in our family! We lucked out big time with this one!
