Austin

Steve and I flew to Austin on Thursday night.  The flight was terrifying!!!!  The turbulence was so bad that I thought we were going to die.  There was screaming, crying, and hyperventilating and it wasn't all by me.  Steve was sweet enough to calm me down and hold me.  Phew!  We got in super late.
Friday morning we set off with our realtor and toured 7 homes.  I had done hours, days and weeks of research and picked out about 16 homes to see; but half of them sold.  The market is moving fast.  Anyhow, the first house we saw was in Georgetown and we both loved it!  The house, the neighborhood, the area, it was all great!  Then we went to Round Rock and Pfugerville, Leander and Buda to see the others.  The rest were ok, but not nearly as good as the one in Georgetown.  And we really loved the town of Georgetown the best.
Saturday morning we met with the realtor again and saw the Georgetown house again.  We wanted it!  We went and saw one other home too, that was just ok.  So we went back to the hotel to mull things over. We did some more searching online for other homes and researched the schools and such in Georgetown.  After a few hours of reading, thinking, discussing, and praying, we decided to make an offer on the house in Georgetown.  It felt good.  But apparently there was another interested family who were scheduled to see it again.  So we waited on pins and needles until Sunday afternoon when we got news that the sellers were accepting our offer.
We were thrilled!!!!
We immediately drove out to Georgetown to explore and learn more about the area. We went and checked out all the kid's schools and were very impressed.  It was just so beautiful out there, the town was so nice, and even though it felt countryish and hometown America, it also offered a lot of great businesses and opportunities.
After that, we drove to downtown Austin and walked around University of Texas and downtown.  We walked the path near the river.  It was so pretty.  And hot!
So today we went back to Georgetown and checked out the town rec center; which was amazing!  We signed the kids up for some activities there this Summer.
Then we went to Zilker Park in downtown Austin.  We rented a kayak and bikes and just went all over the river and town in them.  It was the best!
On the river.
There were turtles everywhere!
We are talking a ton of turtles!
So gorgeous.
We loved this sign.  Moving feels like a big adventure and this trip to Austin really got us super excited.  It is just so great.  We absolutely fell in love with the area.
Lunch at Shady Grove.  So yummy!
Riding bikes all over town.

What a great trip!
