Orlando Vacation
We just got back from an awesome trip to Orlando. The kids had no idea where we were going. They kept asking if we would be doing anything for Thanksgiving. Steve and I had decided we wanted it to be a surprise, so we didn't tell them. I just had everything planned and ready to go and told the kids last minute that we would be going somewhere. I kept acting like I hadn't put any thought into it or planned it and that we would just be making a quick trip somewhere close. So when we got in the car and started driving, they kept wanting to know what the plan was. At that point we just told them that we would not be telling them, but they could guess. It was fun having them watch the direction we were going and asking yes or no questions until they got it. We took two days to get there. They were able to guess Louisiana for the first day. We stayed in Baton Rouge on that first night. On the second day, during the drive, they were asking lots of more questions and eventually Celeste was able to guess where we were going. It made things pretty fun.
We had tickets for everyone for Universal Orlando for four days. There are two parks there. So we spent two days at each one.
The weather was so perfect! It was such that it was hard to decide if a sweatshirt was in order or short sleeves.
The kids paired off at times to ride rides together. When they did this, I asked them to send me photo texts periodically to make sure they were ok. I got some fun photos back from them.
We really liked the Harry Potter world. It was so cool.
They had a piece of the Berlin Wall there. That was neat to see.
We had one dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Jonah is such a huge fan of hard rock, that he was in heaven. He wanted photos of himself in front of some cool memorabilia.
Diagon Alley was so neat!
The babies all tuckered out!
Hogsmede.
Sometimes Steve went with kids to ride scary rides, and sometimes I went. We realized we are getting old! These rides made us feel a bit woozy. I threw up a couple of times on one of them! But it was fun doing the rides with them anyhow.
Universal City Walk is a fun place too.
You could pay $100 and get every professional photo they took of you or anyone in your group at the parks. It was a good investment. We got a lot of fun photos.
I can say that the most fun I had was definitely riding rides with Andy. He was HILARIOUS! He acted all tough and like he wanted to ride scary rides. But once he got on them, he would scream in such terror and try to hide. It made the rides a whole lot more fun to be on.
