James and the Giant Peach
This week Charity and Sam did a little theater camp at the studio. At the end of the week they put on a little show of James and Giant Peach. They had been working on it all week. Well, Charity took it seriously and practiced her lines a lot. Sam wasn't interested. He just wanted to play with the kids.
Charity was a ladybug and did so well! Sam was a caterpillar and refused to say his lines and just was acting silly the whole time. But it was so super cute!

This week
We just finished our first week with Sonic. I love this dog soooooo much! I didn't know I could love a pet like this. I feel like she is one of my children. When I am out, I actually miss her. The kids all adore ger too. She is so cute and fun.
Yesterday as a family, we helped Vicki install a dance floor in the theater room at the studio. That way we have dance classes in both the dance room and theater room. With our dance programing growing, this was needed. It is exciting! We really like how it turned out.

A Dog!
While we were in Bakersfield, we stayed at Sherod and Emily's. They have two dogs that managed to win Steve over. The kids have been begging for a dog for so very long and Steve has been adamantly saying no. But after falling in love with Rue (Waite's dog), he had a change of heart. But we did not tell the kids this. Yesterday Steve and I went looking for a dog. We went to a couple of shelters, then we found one we liked on Craigslist. We kept her name, which was Sonic. The owner said she was 2 years old. When we got home the kids were so excited and surprised. It was really fun to see! They love her. And so far she has been great.
Update to a couple of days longer:
We took her to the vet. The doctor agreed she was practically perfect in every way.
Summer Camps
Becca did a theater camp this week at Arts Avenue. She played Bess in a Nancy Drew play. Bess is Nancy's best friend. The play turned out pretty cute and Becca was so great in it!
Becca has been asking for a long time to be homeschooled. We have been telling her no. The other day, she sat us down, and to our surprise had prepared a power point presentation about why she believed homeschooling was better than public school. She had done research and had some convincing statistics. We were really impressed and started to think we should let her. So we will see. We're still talking/thinking about it.
Also this week I taught a Teacher Training Camp at Arts Avenue. I spent a couple of days teaching some of our older dancers how to teach dance. And then we spent two days with younger kids getting to do day camps with our teacher trainees. It went really well!

LA/Knott's Berry Farm
Last night we stayed in Buena Park California (near LA). This morning we met my brother Andy and Kennedy and Sarah at Knott's Berry Farm.
It was a fun way to catch up. Getting to talk while we waited for rides.
I got the photo pass, which is always a great deal. So we took advantage of getting a lot of photos from the park's photographers and cameras.
We all had lunch at TGIFridays.
The two littles were so adorable on their rides.
Charity really loves posing for pictures.
I wrote my cell phone number with a Sharpie on Charity and Sam's arms just in case they got lost.
They rode a couple of rides without a big person going with them, just because they were barely tall enough to be allowed to do so. They absolutely loved being like the big kids and independent.
This photo of the Andy's is so hilarious to me.
