This video is over a year old, but I am just now posting it because I hated how I did in this video for so long, I just didn't want to post it. Tonight, as my phone was full, I needed to clear some space and couldn't bring myself to delete it entirely. So I went ahead and uploaded it here, then deleted it from my phone. You see, not long before Nutcracker, I had a terrible fall running and injured both my shoulder and knee badly. I broke a bone in my shoulder, and ripped up my ligaments there. In my knee, I tore my ACL. Again. I also needed some large tunnels in my bones re-built. I needed to get both my knee and my shoulder reconstructed surgically. Yet, I didn't want to leave the Nutcracker Director in a bad spot of trying to fill my spot in 5 dances last minute. So I danced through the injuries. So I look very bad in this video. I was hurting, and I was really nervous about making more damage. So I was trying to dance extremely cautiously. Especially when turning.
I am only posting this one video because it was my solo, and I choreographed it. Right after Nutcracker, I had my shoulder operated on and fixed up. After a couple of months of rehab, I had my knee operated on twice. It was extensive reconstruction that needed to be done in two surgeries. I still haven't been able to really dance full out since my last surgery in August. I was told to use extreme caution and not really run or dance for a year. I miss it!
I am pretty excited about this poster a former dance mom made for me for the production I have been working on! I came up with this show idea about a year ago. I choreographed it this past Summer and we have been rehearsing it since school started. It is almost here! And Becca and Hana are in it too!
Tonight Fiddler on the Roof had their first performance. In this cast, Becca played the Hat Maker and was supporting in various scenes in the show. I will post photos after I see the other cast.
Here she is warming up with the cast, and she is trying to hide from the camera. The whole show as fantastic!
We were impressed.
I made this photo montage commemorating our Meetchya Day of Hana and Andy. But I could not get it uploaded on our Youtube Channel. So I let Youtube make it's own. These are photos we got as we waited to meet Hana and Andy, when we met them in Ethiopia, them arriving in America, and their first year home.
Charity got awarded at school with perfect attendance all year, and for being on Honor Roll all year. She also got the Principal's Award for Cooperation. Her teacher wrote she always does all that she is asked to. Later she told me "I'm so proud of myself!"
We had such a fun weekend. We went out with the Findley's, who are new friends of ours. This was our second time going out with them and we really enjoyed their company! We have so much in common and talked with them for 4 hours without a dull moment. We took the kids out to eat at Ihop and then went shopping just for fun at Target. Cessie made this amazing cake! Eden and I made a cute little new bed for Sonic. We love her so much!
