Time with Friends

Recently Steve, myself, Eden and Becca went down to University of Texas Austin to watch Mike teach one of his classes. It was about terrorism in the world arena. It was very interesting and we were proud of him and enjoyed the class. Two of Mike and Heather's kids came, Andrea and David. And Mike and Heather were there too of course.



Afterwards we went out to lunch at Tai How Are You. It was yummy!




I also got to go on a little girl's day trip to Waco with Amber, Shanae and Amanda. We had a lot of fun doing all the typical Waco girl stuff people do there.


It was also my first time inside of a Buckeys! This is a major gas station chain people love around here that I found to be quite overwhelming, and awesome. 


And the other night we got together with a group of friends in Round Rock. As always with our friends, we loved our time.

Andy’s 17th birthday!

Andy had been back home from San Marcos Treatment Center for about 2 weeks before his 17th birthday. San Marcos was where he was getting treatment for his PTSD for 4 weeks. It was a big deal for him to be away all that time, and it was a big experience that he will have to talk about when and how he wants. But he came back and things in our family changed. Dramatically. And Steve and I are so very grateful for that and and are enjoying having him home and in our family. It has been such a big change that everyone in the family needed and appreciates.


So 17 is a significant birthday for him!
For his birthday he wanted to get his hair cut and colored. He got designs and everything!

It is kind of purple on one side and blue on the other. It looks pretty cool!

Eden Prom

Eden went to Prom with Moses and some of her great pals. They had an awesome time!


I had to steal a couple of screengrabs from her friend's social media accounts.

These photos are from my bathroom right after we got her all ready. She looked so pretty!!! And she felt pretty and it was fun!!!



I just want to share one thing about her dress. She bought it. On Amazon. Herself. Without even telling me. She does things like that all the time. For example, I intended to have this typical Mother/Daughter rite of passage kinda thing and go prom dress shopping, and she says to herself, "This needs to be done, I will do it." And has no conversation with anyone about it. I find it on our doorstep in an Amazon box 13 days later. She buys most of her own things. She is extremely independent. But as a mom, it just gets a little said sometimes to miss those experiences with her when she chooses to be super independent and self-reliant. I am very proud of her though. She is awesome!

Hana performed a lyrical solo to "If I Aint Got You" by James Bay. She was great! And I loved the photos!

Dance Competition

Competition was a two day event. On Saturday morning Charity and Payton competed their jazz duo in the Junior Division. They got 4th place and a couple of cute special awards. I felt like that 4th place was pretty deserved. They did a good job but really rushed their timing. But it was a tough competition and we were pretty pleased with the result.

On Sunday night Hana competed her lyrical solo in the teen division. I really thought she was going to place probably 3/4th, but she ended up not placing. So that was a little bit of a surprise. She did pretty well though and we were very proud of her!

Andy Draws

Andy has not really been the art interested type. He has had a lot of years of a lot of pain and suffering with his childhood trauma. But he has had what seems to be an emotional breakthrough recently. And this drawing is one kind of sweet example of that. I wont go into detail about his explaination of the drawing, but I was touched. But basically his heart is changing. In a good way.
