Steve went to San Jose for work last week. The first night he was gone, our basement flooded. The babies had apparently turned on the faucet earlier in the day and I didn't know it. So it filled up our window well pretty high and started pouring into our family room in the basement.
It was a terrible mess! The older kids were great about helping me get the water out of the window well. Then we used all the towels and blankets we could get a hold of to soak up the water. It was pretty crazy! Then I used Brother Key's shop vac to suck up as much water as I could. The carpet had to be pulled up and fans on it for a few days.
