Hana ballet class 9/16

Becca ballet class 9/16

Becca & Hana Ballet

We are now just wrapping up our first month of Becca taking ballet. She never wanted to do it before. She and Hana just did jazz last year. I did teach Hana ballet a couple of years ago, but she wasn't really into it. She is now though and it has been fun! Both these girls are on my Dance Company, on the Silver Team. It is a lot of work, but they are working hard and progressing well. I love getting to teach them and have these team experiences together.
Here they are in ballet class. I got to sit and watch and video because I am interviewing potential teachers and having them come to my classes to do a little teaching so I can see how well they teach.

Charity

Charity fell at the playground last week at school and cut her lip. She had to go to the doctor and get a few stitches.

This week I took her back to get her stitches removed. She was a good sport.

Hair for Hana

The place I take Hana to get her hair done is interesting. They have an eclectic mix of decor. Everything from bizarre mannequins to ugly purses for sale, to Jesus shrines. They have two large televisions and they always have video of religious content on. Usually is it televangelists. Last time we came it was a televangelist on one TV and an interesting documentary on the other TV. The documentary was about the music industry, pop stars like Michael Jackson, JayZ, and Beyonce and how they literally signed contracts giving their souls to the Devil and how they are working with the Illuminati to carry out Satan's work. I got a little video of it that I will have to post. It is always an interesting experience going there.

Chipotle

I liked my view at dinner of Jonah with his arm around Charity and she snuggled up to him.❤️

Sonic's Party Pen 9/17/16

Free Museum Day

I think this is an annual thing in Austin, but they have "Museum Day" where over 30 museums in the Austin area have free admission. This was a big deal for our family, because just going to "The Thinkery" would have cost us $100. So we decided to make a day of seeing museums. ----But we ended up only making it through three. :)

Of course there were crowds. There was a line into the Thinkery, but they had these cute activities for the kids to do while they waited. We got through the line fairly quick though.

I only have photos with our 6 youngest kids because Celeste and Jonah ended up spending almost their entire time there on a bench with their noses in a book. It wasn't their scene.

I'd say Sam had the best time. It was so cool to him and he was raving about the place as we left. So that was fun.

This photo was taken at the Austin Toy Museum, where Hana got her face painted.

And that is all the photos I got or Museum Day unfortunately.
Afterwards we went to Cessie's apartment to swim at her pool and I even forgot to get photos there. I was too busy really enjoying myself.

But later I happened upon this scene...

We have been trying to train Sonic to do her business on the puppy pads. So the way you are to do this is to keep them in a caged area. Well, Jonah got the idea to turn her area into a party pen. It even had music playing for her.

This Week

This Sunday when we had our weekly family meeting/lesson, we were all kind of spread out between the Living Room (where you see Eden, Andy, Jonah and Cessie sitting), and the Entry Room (where I am sitting taking the photo). Steve was standing there giving his lesson in-between the rooms and I just felt like getting a photo of the moment. It was just so...us. Jonah had tickets to the Goo Goo Dolls and Collective Soul Concert in Austin. He wanted to take his friend Chloe, but she couldn't come, so he asked me! I was so excited to get to go to his first concert with him! It was a gorgeous day and the setting was fun. And we both really really enjoyed all the music! It was like a nice blast to my later High School, early College years. I love that Jonah's favorite music is from my youth. Their opening band was actually really great too. They were Tribe Society and we liked their sound.

On Tuesdays at Sam's school they do a half hour "Chapel" meeting. They bring all the kids into the chapel and do a cute little meeting. They sing songs about Jesus, the Rector gives a cute little lesson, and they also have the Senior Rector (I think that is what they call them), give all the children having a birthday, a little blessing. It is pretty adorable. Sam was trying to play cool the whole time and act like he wasn't loving it, but he totally was.

Sam's 5th Birthday

Sam's birthday was pretty low key this year. He only wanted to go on a mommy date out to lunch and shopping. We ate lunch out at McDonalds, then shopped.
He bought a giant, human sized teddy bear and a remote control car.
And for his dessert, he insisted on getting this giant Costco cake that looks like it is better suited to a wedding.

Cessie's Fridge

Cessie texted me this photo of her fridge at her apartment after she decorated it. It really made my heart happy.  :)

Sam Starts Kindergarten

Sam started Kindergarten this week! Because he just missed the cut off date for public Kindergarten, he is doing private kindergarten at his Preschool, Grace Episcopal School. We love this place!

His teacher is Miss Ellen and there are only 5 kids in his class!

The Lake

We had a picnic at Lake Georgetown and most of the kids got in to play. But this is the only photo I've got. Still was a great time!
