Dance Revolution

Over the weekend we went to Dallas to attend Dance Revolution. This was my third year going. It was Becca and Hana's second year going. And it was Charity's first year. This was Arts Avenue's first year bringing as many dancers as we brought. (24 dancers.) And we also have our Mini Team. At the start of the season I came up with the Arts Avenue Big Sister program. It is where each of the teen dancers have a little dancer assigned to them to mentor. It's been a wonderful thing. Morgan chose Charity and they are so cute together. Charity adores Morgan!

A lot of our dancers getting ready to go down to the "Illuminate Dance Party".

On the first night the Main Company dancers got together in the lobby and exchanged cards to each other. It was sweet. Great group of girls.

This is all of our dancers having a prayer before taking the stage.

This is Hana with her little sister Della. They love each other.

This is during one of our performance pieces. I went backstage with our dancers, so my perspective was from the wings offstage.

Becca is partnering with Katelyn during this part of the dance. Becca is far in these photos, but she is the dancer center stage, but facing my camera.

After the performance the girls exchanged their Secret Sister gifts.

And we got a group photo with the Main Company Dancers.
Standing row from left to right: Me, Kate, Victoria, Lauren, Morgan, Katelyn, Amelia, Tara and Becca.
Sitting row from left to right: Brooke, Ashlyn, Savannah, Hana and Makayla.

Then Becca and Hana went swimming with some of their teammates. I let them use my new phone in the pool because it is water proof. They took a bunch of photos and videos with it.

Then Becca and Hana went up with those same girls to their room and partied late into the night.

One of our Mini parents are professional photographers and took a few photos of the team right before the performance outside the hotel.
From left to right: Izzi, Della, Charity, Adelynne, Joey, Payton, Selah, Lizzi, Elyse, Brooke and Jasmine.

Charity taking the ballet class.

It was a crazy weekend that was entirely exhausting. But overall, it went pretty well. I was the only Arts Avenue teacher there with all the dancers AND their families, so I felt like I was stretched pretty thin. But the drama you typically expect with a bunch of girls and moms managed to not get out of control fortunately. Success!
