Moments from being a mom

Last night after dancing at the Boys & Girl’s Club, I took Charity and Sam to Juiceland.

And this morning I lost it when I thought I lost a kid!

And this adorable grocery list some kids have been adding to.

Anna here

Not too long ago, Anna called to let me know she was coming for a quick trip!
She arrived on Saturday afternoon, and she almost immediately took all of our kids skating and out to eat!
She sent me these great photos.

On Sunday we all went out to eat.

We went for a couple of walks. One at our park where we picked up trash for a while. And another walk around Berry Springs.
The National Christmas Tree was coming through Georgetown, so we stared at that too.

And Charity with her champagne glass with the Martinelli’s.

Monday Anna and I had such a lovely time together in Austin.

It was really fun for me to get to be a part of her phone call with Micah on his mission!

I was so grateful for her making the trip. We all loved our time with her!

Daddy time with the youngest two

But first I must share these two adorable photos of Charity just before going to an 80’s themed birthday party.

Steve took these two to Blue Hole and a bookstore.
They all loved it.

Visiting Jonah in rehab. Also the progression of his addiction healing

In rehab, they only allow for one, two hour visitation per month! And they only allow 5 close guests to visit. So on the day we got to visit Jonah, (yesterday), we had myself, Celeste, Becca, Eden, and Steve.
Our first surprise was his mohawk! He said some friend persuaded him into doing it and turns out, he LOVES it, so we had nothing else to do but to LOVE it too!
Some of my observations that joyfully brought me to tears a on several occasions during this visit, was how different he was from the other two rehab stints he had.
He is learning and understanding and implementing so many valuable lessons. He is patient and kind and humble and accepting. His attitude has undergone an incredible transformation.
Another observation I had was about his music. I have been listening to Jonah create music since he first picked up a guitar over four years ago. His music during his battle with addiction was dark, it was jolting and uneasy on the ears. But it was true to what was going on within him. And so I always have had to respect and help guide his creative process to challenge himself to make music that would be pleasant for ANYONE to listen to. He really struggled with it during his addiction. His music now sounds very very different!
So with all these observations in mind, I feel grateful and optimistic for Jonah. His future at this rate, is very bright.

More interesting happenings

Charity’s teacher shared this cute photo of the kids in her class.

Steve took Andy, Hana and Charity to the carnival last night.

I like to remember these lovely sights I visit on my daily walks.

All Hallows Eve

On Halloween Steve took these kids out for Trick or Treating in the Vickery’s neighborhood. I got reports that is was awesome! I stayed home and rested and Becca gave out candy to trick or treaters.

Workout Milestone & Charity at School

I started using the Sworkit app for strength training, stretching and yoga workouts Jan 1, 2019. Yesterday’s milestone of 500th workout was pretty exciting! Somedays I have done a few short workouts, instead of just one.

Charity at school on Halloween. They carved a pumpkin.

Eden officially moves out!

This Eden packing up all of her stuff to move out on Halloween!
She is just renting a room from some people in the neighborhood that Celeste use to rent from.
Cessie moved out from there recently to move in with her boyfriend Derek!
Anyhow, proud and excited for our kids growing up and becoming more independent.
