Sam's owie

For reasons I don't feel like typing up, I want to put these photos up of Sam.  Today he had this removed at the dermotologist.  But I wanted to get a few shots of it first.  (For reference mostly.)
And this kid was a champ as they worked on him.  The doctor, nurse and I were so amazed at his toughness and bravery.
Here's hoping it never comes back!

Charity's Dance Class

This is a photo of Charity's dance class. I love teaching these cuties!  And they are good!  I think Charity is the best and not just because she is my little girl.  She really is good!  We do ballet the first half of class and tap the second half.

Homecoming

Eden had always wanted to go to Homecoming, but Cessie and Jonah were not as keen on the idea.  Well, this boy asked Eden to go with him.  We told her she could meet him there and dance with him, but not going out before or after.  But Eden didn't like this boy the way he liked her.  So she convinced Cessie to accompany her to the dance to help keep it more comfortable and friend-like.  Cessie being the nice sister that she is, agreed to go.
I wanted to get a photo or two of Eden but she loves getting photographed when she's looking cute and just worked the camara.  So I ended up with a bunch.
See what I mean?
Cessie let me put makeup on her and do her hair.  She normally never does either. And she borrowed my dress.
She looked so cute too!
Charity wanted a picture with her.
At the last minute Cessie begged Jonah to go too.  She wanted more support there with her because these kind of things are super uncomfortable for her and Jonah is her best friend.
He really really did not want to go.  But he is such a good brother to her that he agreed to do it for her.
These three are so great together.  It makes me so happy I had them so close together.

This Week

Sam was honored for his birthday at preschool this week.  It was pretty cute.  Once a week they have "Chapel."  It is only about 15 minutes long.  They sing songs, the minister gives a little lesson, and they honor the children having birthdays that week.
Charity asked if she and I could go running together the other day.  So we did!  She was so so adorable.
Eden wore her mum to school.  In Texas, for Homecoming weekend, girls going to homecoming, wear a mum to school on the last day of the week.  The mums are given to them by their dates.  Eden is going to homecoming, with a friend, but Cessie made her mum for her in her floral design class.  The boys wear garters on their arms.
Isn't she pretty?  Cessie and Jonah weren't interested in going to Homecoming.  But Eden is really social and wouldn't miss it!
Sam loves to walk with me when I walk the kids to the bus stop in the mornings.
Becca at the bus stop.  I need to get photos of the other kids some time.
Last night I had a little party at my house for my ballet company dancers and their families.  It was a lot of fun!  After we ate dinner and did mani's and pedi's, we all went to see Georgetown Ballet perform.  It was nice, and we talked with the dancers before and after the performance.

Swimming at our pool for Family Fun Day.  Steve was playing with the kids and acting like a kid himself.
We like waffles, but don't eat them often because with one waffle maker and ten people it just took forever.  So I recently bought three new ones!  And it's been fun not only making waffles, but trying other stuff like these yummy quesidillas.

Kids Clean

I just felt like posting this.  I like to remember the little things.  Sometimes the kids clean up a room and they'll want me to come see their work--before it gets messed up again.  But I am either busy or too lazy to go check it out.  When this happens, I will sometimes just hand the kid my phone and tell them to go take photos of their work.  And that is exactly what happened yesterday when Hana did some kitchen cleaning.  She didn't clean the large eating area with our big table, so she got a bunch of photos of the rest of the kitchen.  I just thought this was kind of cute.

Fancy Fridge

This is exciting blog-worthy news!  We got a new fridge!  I love it! Our old fridge made me sad.  It had come with the house and worked like poo poo.  This one makes me happy and works like a dream.
To celebrate, I put a fresh new bottle of my favorite pickles in it.  With a death threat for anyone wishing to touch my pickles.

My Crazy Husband

Steve got this hair-brained idea to set up a treadmill at his desk so he can work and exercise at the same time.  He took the "Standing at your desk" ethic to a whole new level.  We will see how this works out...

Mohawks

I loved finding this note on my bathroom counter.  A little request from Jonah for a very specific hair gel.  This boy is cracking me up with his religious hair routine.  His mini-mohawks come with a price:  Pantene pro-V Gel for normal to thick hair #4 Maximum Hold.

Jonah's Electric

Today was pretty exciting for Jonah!  He bought his first ever electric guitar and amp!!!  He has been wanting this ever since he decided he wanted to learn guitar.  He is one happy guy tonight!

Date Night

Steve and I had a fun date last night.  Dinner at Chipotle, our current favorite place to eat.  Then bowling.  We played almost 3 games.  He won 2.  And then to the smoothie place.  I am in love with him.  He's so great.

Andy Football

We really didn't want Andy to do football.  But over the Summer at a basketball camp, the Middle School athletic coaches started recruiting him to play on the school team.  He really wanted to!  We really didn't!!  I had a meeting with the athletic director during the Summer telling him all of our concerns.  We don't want Andy having concussions or serious injuries.  He eased my worries enough that we decided to let him.  (He is #2 in all these photos.)
Football here in Texas is like a religion!  People take it super serious.  The 7th grade team got split into 2 teams.  An "A" and a "B" team.  The coaches said there were about 100 players among the teams!  Andy got put on the "A" team.
This week they had their first game.  A storm came in and it was cut short after half time due to thundering.  But Andy played the entire game.  What there was of it.  He played both offense and defense.
He played pretty well.  He did tackle one kid all by himself, preventing that kid from making a touchdown.  So that was cool.
And no injuries!  Yay!
