Dance Competition

This past weekend was Act 1 Dance Competition. I brought 13 dances to it. 3 of those dances had our children in it. Charity and Payton did a duo to Jack Johnson's "Angel", Hana and Becca did a  duo to "The Glory of Love" from the new Beaches soundtrack, and Hana and Becca were also in our group dance "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye". This competition was sold out and had over 600 dances competing! And there were a lot of amazing studios there. Charity and Payton's duo actually won First Overall among the 6-8 year old duos. We were shocked, because there was so much good competition. I kept telling them to not expect to win anything at all! But they actually won first place! And they got a Platinum rating, which is the highest rating you can get. None of our other dances got that high of a rating. So we were all so excited and proud of them!
And they were just too adorable. These two have a crush on each other. Payton tells people that he is going to marry Charity someday. They are so cute together.
During rehearsals, the two of them just kept bouncing off the walls and being silly and would not focus or practice well. But when they got up on stage, they came through. I asked them afterwards why they were so terrible in all the rehearsals, but decided to finally focus during the performance, and Charity said "That's just how we roll."
I told Charity to pose like a fashion model in here, and this is what I got.

Hana and Becca's duo got a gold rating, but did not place. But they were actually in the teen division in this competition, which tends to be the toughest to compete in. They did great though and we were proud.
Their group dance got a special award called "Beautifully touching", so that was kind of cool. They only give out a handful of special awards.

Hana and Lyndi are fun together and wanted to take these photos.

Some of our other dancers. I didn't get a photo with the entire Company in it. :(
Some of our other duos did well. We got 10th, 9th, 4th and 3rd placings.
