Celeste has been reading the 4th Harry Potter Book whenever she can here at mom's. She loves it! She's tucked away in a corner reading it this very moment. I don't know what she'll do with herself when she's done.

Steve comes tomorrow night! I cannot wait.

Note to Steve: I've missed you really bad Steve and can't wait to see you. You are the greatest.

Some interesting things

Here are a few of the interesting things in my parents home. There are way too many interesting things to post here and talk about. But here are some for you to see. My mom loves history and collects a lot of antiques. She has a large collection of very old books. The Bible I show here she says was published in either 1525 or 1575. I love all her artwork she's got too. She has fun little statues around outside that the kids really enjoy.

Here are some photos of my parents house. It is such a beautiful place and a very nice place to stay. It's about 6,000 square feet and sits on 2 and a half acres. My mom was horrified that I took pictures of the inside. She thought it looked messy. But it looks pretty good to me. I got photos of some of the main rooms and outdoors. It is a gorgeous day today! Sunny and warm. I love it. They just got the outside of the house redone and my mom is pretty excited about that. It used to have wood siding. Mom's still waiting for her new shutters to arrive. I am sure they'll look great too. Thought it might be fun for some of you to see these photos.

Anna Celeste

Our beautiful, and oldest daughter is turning 9 today. Happy Birthday sweetheart. We are really proud of her. She is very smart socially and academically. And she is also a good friend to me. One of my favorite things about Celeste is that I can talk to her like I would talk to another adult. She understands things way beyond her years and likes to talk about those things. It's nice for me as a mom at times when I am surrounded by children so much, to have someone to talk to. She is a joy to us.

Place "A", Monday's forecast: 70 degrees

Actually, place "B" will be having better weather Monday than it has been too. This is not a tough choice for me. I choose Place "A". And that happens to be Bakersfield, California!

It's 4am Sunday morning and I got only a couple of hours of sleep last night because I was just too excited. We are gonna try to head out about 5am. Thought I'd make a quick post while I wait for everyone to get up.

My super sweet sister Molly flew up last night and will be driving the kids and I down there. We'll spend our 3 week school track break in Bakersfield. Steve's gonna fly down on the 3rd week. It's been a tough little stretch for me lately and so we made this plan to get me through a few more weeks and I think it was a great idea. Thanks mom and dad for being willing to help me out! Thanks Molly too for being so cool and helpful too.

I'm outa here! But don't worry, I still plan on blogging while I'm down there.

Megan is pregnant!

I'm excited to report that my friend Megan is pregnant. I was so flattered to be the first to know. Saw the test myself. She'll be due in mid October. Yahoo!

Chunkers

Well, Jonah got his nickname when he was a baby. He used to be chubby. So I started calling him "Hunka Chunka." Then my sister Emily called him "Chunk". It eventually evolved into "Chunkers" and he loves it. Although we use different variations of the name. He has other nicknames. He's my only child that I really use a nickname for probably more than I use their true name. But he says he wants me to call him those names. So I oblige.
Jonah loves the great outdoors! I remember this day really well 3 years ago. He was on cloud 9! He was so thrilled to be driving through this canyon.

This is Chunkers last Summer.

This is Chunkers with some family and friends celebrating his 8th Birthday. This happened today. But his true birthday is tomorrow. It was fun!

I love my son lots and lots. He is a good boy and we are very grateful to have him. Happy Birthday Chunks. He's 8!

Ultrasound pics

I got an ultrasound yesterday and here are a couple of the pictures they sent me home with. Pretty cute kid hu?

The last couple of days have been crappy. I must have puked 100 times on Monday. Amy can attest to that. I couldn't stop when we were talking on the phone. She just laughed. (Not offended though Amy! Everyone needs a good laugh :) Tuesday was minimally better. Today a bit better even. Amy brought me a cherry slush yesterday. I thought that was so sweet!

Yesterday I got a little spooked at my ultrasound. The doctor there said that there was a moderate amount of blood in my uterus coming from my placenta. She said that put me at risk for preterm labor. I've been having cramping since the beginning of my pregnancy, but have not put too much thought into it. But they were picking up contractions on the ultrasound. Fortunately the baby looks great and I am happy about that. They are running some more tests which I wont get back for about 10 days I think. I think that everything is fine, but I can't help but be a little nervous.

I'm 13 weeks now. Due date: August 20, 2008. Which was confirmed at yesterday's ultrasound.

Invite

So just wanted to let you know that our family is planning a trip to Disneyland on March 6th and California Adventure on the 7th. Emily and Rob and family are going too. It's gonna be tons of fun!!! Tim, Brenda, Sherod, Emily, Andy, Amber... any takers? We'd love to have you all come along.

Yesterday was my friend Megan's birthday. I wanted to publicly tell her how cool she is. I had a nice time hanging out with her all day. It was a great day! She is really fun to talk to and so good to me. Thanks for all you do Megan. Happy Birthday. Love you.
